This will allow you to get the boxes in and out without getting too cold. it will also make the trip from the house to the truck shorter so that no one gets too cold nor risks a fall from trecking outside. 

Get cheap moving boxes and cheap plastic

Saving money on moving supplies is best. In the event of moving in the snow, you should get cheap moving boxes and cheap plastic. The plastic can either be loose or in the form of large garbage bags. Pack your items inside of the boxes, then wrap the plastic around the outside of the boxes. This way if you have a backup of things going on the truck or if there is a leak in the truck, your items will not get wet. This also allows you to purchase inexpensive moving supplies since you will have two layers of protection for the items in the boxes. 

Wrap all metal inside of insulation

While it is common to carry metal bed frames, wrought iron tables, and other metal items out by themselves, this can be a bad idea in the cold and snow. These items can become so cold that they hurt the hands. Metal items may also cause other substances to stick to them because of the cold. To combat this issue, wrap all metal items inside of some sort of cushion or thin insulation. This can be as simple as a bed sheet or plastic wrap. Creating a barrier between the metal item and the outside will stop anything from being harmed or damaged due to the frigid temperature of the metal.
